Musselburgh-based Volunteer Centre East Lothian is currently developing a scheme whereby residents of East Lothian with garden property that they can no longer manage, can get assistance with such gardens through a number of initiatives.

It's a great idea, we've talked about it in Transition meetings so we're delighted to hear that our neighbours at VCEL are already on the case.

Especially interesting if you're still waiting on that allotment! Get in touch with VCEL on North High Street.

The revived Border Trophy TT series took place on Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th June at Kelso and Galashiels respectively.  These are open events but times count towards the Border Trophy between the Kelso and Gala clubs.  They are hoping to extend the events to include other Border clubs and keep them as open events as well.  The kelso course was from Kelso to a dead turn at the far end of Birgham and return to Kelso.  23:41 for me and first time on what was a good course in fine countryside.  The Gala course on the Wednesday was the usual Melrose by-pass and I posted a 23:40 this time – consistent if anything!.  Andy Matheson was the other rider from the club and he was round in 23:26.  Good things happening in the Borders at the moment and they are blessed with decent courses.  Full results on the Gala CC web site
