Book Week Scotland is about celebrating books and reading in every part of life in Scotland. Between 25 November and 1 December 2013, people of all ages and of all walks of life will be able to come together in libraries, schools, community venues and workplaces to share and enjoy books and reading.
They will be joined in this celebration by Scotland’s authors, poets, playwrights, storytellers and illustrators to bring a packed programme of free projects and events to life.
Book Week events in Musselburgh Library
CHILDRENS AUTHOR Lari Don - Monday 25th November 1.45pm (primary 3-4)
This fantastic children’s author will be visiting during Book Week Scotland. She’ll be talking to invited primary school audiences, but each event is open to all. Feel free to join us.
AN HONEST READ - Wednesday 27th November 7pm
A panel of well known faces from Musselburgh will discuss three books that made an impact on their lives in some way. Questions and comments from the audience are very much encouraged. Light refreshments available. Copies of Treasures, the free book published by the Scottish Book Trust which contains stories or poems about treasured possessions, will be given out.
TEDDY BEAR SLEEP OVER – Thursday 28th November
Under 7s can register their teddy bears to take part in our sleepover from 11th November. All teddies taking part should be with the library for 3.30pm on Thursday 28th November. We’re fairly sure they’ll behave themselves, but who knows what they’ll get up to when we’ve gone home? Keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter feeds to find out if they’re being good little bears...
